Hutchies champions ride 250km to raise over $250,000

Icon Cancer Foundation / 11 Dec, 2025

The Hutchies 1-Day Crit Challenge Ride was a huge success, raising an incredible $250,000 for Icon Cancer Foundation (ICF) and AEIOU Foundation, supporting cancer research and early intervention services for children with autism.

On Sunday 30 November, 48 committed cyclists took to the Nundah crit track, cheered on by family and friends as they conquered 250km.

Despite soaring temperatures, the spirit and determination of the riders were unstoppable.

The energy around the track buzzed with camaraderie, generosity and spirited determination – and a healthy dose of friendly competition.

One of the most special moments of the day was watching Icon Cancer Centre clinicians ride alongside current and past patients, embodying resilience, strength and hope.

This special collaboration was inspired by Associate Professor James Morton AM, Icon Group’s Director of Haematology and Founder and Director of the AEIOU Foundation. Together with Hutchinson Builders Managing Director Russel Fryer, the vision for the 1-day Crit Challenge Ride came to life – uniting AEIOU Foundation and Icon Cancer Foundation in a shared mission to support families navigating complex health journeys.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Hutchinson Builders, AEIOU Foundation and the many volunteers, supporters, and participants who made this event possible. Your commitment and generosity will help create a real and lasting impact.

We can’t wait to get the wheels turning on next year’s challenge.
