Simon was diagnosed with aggressive non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After several rounds of failed chemotherapy, he was running out of time. His last hope – a breakthrough treatment made possible by research. It saved his life.
“I owe my life to research and to the people who support it,” says Simon, who is now in remission and back flying as a Qantas pilot. He’s treasuring every moment with his wife Catherine and daughter Bianca.
Simon benefitted from CAR T-cell therapy, a type of immunotherapy that didn’t exist ten years ago.
“Without research, the treatment would exist now, and I wouldn’t be here.”
