Thank you Ross Koscharsky – a decade of leadership
As Chair of the Icon Cancer Foundation (ICF) Board, I would like to take this opportunity to thank fellow Board member Ross Koscharsky for his remarkable contribution to the Foundation and Icon over the past decade.
Ross joined the ICF Board around 10 years ago when the Foundation was part of Haematology and Oncology Clinics of Australia. Alongside another key founder, Dr John Bashford, he helped guide the significant work required to establish Icon Cancer Foundation as it exists today. What followed were several years of thoughtful planning, reorganisation and growth that laid the foundations for the strong and sustainable organisation we are proud to be today.
While Ross brought more than 20 years of financial leadership experience to the Board, it was his perspective on research that made his contribution particularly valuable. He understood that progress in cancer care requires long-term thinking and a willingness to invest in ideas that may take years to deliver results. He never lost sight of the fact that behind every research project is a patient, a family and the hope of a better future.
Throughout his time on the Board, Ross was a strong advocate for ensuring research remained central to the Foundation’s mission. His guidance helped position Icon Cancer Foundation to support clinician-led research across Australia, expand research capability and create new opportunities for patients to access innovative treatments and clinical trials. He recognised that research is an integral part of the ethos of Icon Group with tangible benefits for staff and patients.
Ross’s commitment to community impact extended beyond Icon. His involvement with organisations including the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and Telstra ChildFlight reflects a longstanding dedication to supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Today, Ross leaves the Foundation in a strong position. Thanks to his stewardship and guidance, Icon Cancer Foundation is well placed to continue investing in research that expands treatment options, strengthens cancer care and improves outcomes for patients across Australia.
On behalf of the ICF Board, I would like to sincerely thank Ross for his wisdom, generosity and unwavering support of the Foundation’s mission. His influence will continue to be felt for many years to come.

As we farewell Ross, we are also pleased to welcome Tracey Fyvie to the Board. Tracey has been part of the Icon family for more than a decade and brings extensive experience in strategic growth, business development and organisational leadership. Having played a key role in establishing many Icon Cancer Centres across the country and now serving as CEO of Commercial and Global Services, Tracey brings a deep understanding of Icon’s purpose, people and future direction.
We look forward to the contribution Tracey will make as we continue building on the strong foundations that leaders like Ross have helped create.
