Thanks to an incredible show of support from colleagues, friends, and the wider community, Jade has now raised more than $7,000.
Jade’s decision to take part in the fundraiser was inspired by her best friend of 17 years, Charmaine, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in March this year.
Speaking about her motivation, Jade shared:
“Charmaine is like family to me. Seeing someone you love navigate cancer is incredibly difficult, and it’s made me realise how important research is in giving people more options and hope. Every donation helps give people like Char more time and more moments with the people they love.”
Before shaving her head, Jade invited her fellow Icon colleagues to be part of the experience, auctioning the honour of cutting sections of her hair in exchange for donations. The moment was met with strong support from those in attendance, highlighting the close-knit culture across Icon Group.
Jade’s locks will be donated to the Ponytail Project, ensuring that her contribution continues to support others beyond the day itself.
