Dr Jonathan Ramsay
Board Chair

Dr Ramsay trained as a Radiation Oncologist in the UK before moving to a consultant post at Royal Brisbane Hospital and subsequently the Mater Hospital in Brisbane. His main clinical interests have been in breast, gynaecological and skin cancers. He has had a long-term interest in clinical and basic research having completed a Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and worked as a clinical scientist for four years at the University of Cambridge Department of Clinical Oncology.

He also held the position of Head of the QRI Laboratory in Translational Research at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) for 10 years and during this time completed a doctorate titled ‘Predicting the Response to Cancer Treatment’.

Dr Ramsay co-founded Radiation Oncology Queensland (ROQ), now Icon Cancer Centre, in 2005 which introduced a local radiation therapy service to Toowoomba in regional Queensland. This business grew exponentially with the opening of centres at the Gold Coast, Springfield, and Cairns before becoming the first radiation oncology business within Icon Group. Dr Ramsay was Director of Icon Group until 2017. He is also chair of the Radiation Therapy Advisory Group (RTAG) and Associate Professor at the University of Queensland.

He is also Icon Group’s Director of Research (radiation therapy and radiation medicine) where he leads the group’s radiation medicine clinical trial portfolio strategy and has a commitment to the application of clinical expertise to provide patient-centric care and greater access to clinical research.

Tracey Fyvie
Board Director

Tracey Fyvie is Icon Group’s Chief Executive Officer – Commercial and Global Services and brings extensive experience in strategic development and commercial growth to the Icon Cancer Foundation Board.

Since joining the Group in 2015, Tracey has played a key role in the organisation’s growth, leading the delivery of new oncology centres, major capital projects and acquisition integrations across the globe.

With a background spanning project management, strategic investment, marketing, product development and business leadership, Tracey has a strong track record turning strategy into sustainable growth and impact.

As a Board Director, Tracey is passionate about supporting the Foundation’s mission to advance cancer care through innovative, patient-centred research. She is committed to helping strengthen the Foundation’s growth, partnerships and long-term impact, ensuring more patients can benefit from world-class cancer research and clinical trials.

Jenny Hansen
Board Director

Jenny Hansen is Icon Group’s Chief Marketing and Communication Officer and brings more than 25 years’ experience across healthcare marketing, communication, brand and stakeholder engagement to the Icon Cancer Foundation Board.

Jenny has worked across a wide range of healthcare sectors including private hospitals, diagnostics and allied health, in both profit and not-for-profit environments. Since joining Icon Group in 2008, she has been instrumental in the organisation’s growth, playing a pivotal role in building global brand recognition, entering new markets and strengthening Icon’s position across Australia and internationally.

With deep experience in market development, multi-channel communication, regulatory and stakeholder management, Jenny brings a strategic perspective to the Foundation’s next phase of growth.

As a Board Director, Jenny is committed to helping strengthen ICF’s position as a trusted platform for clinician-led research, building the partnerships, confidence and philanthropic support needed to advance cancer research and improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

Sophie Mepham PhD
Board Director

Sophie is Icon Group’s Executive Manager Research Global and has more than 25 years’ experience in medical, clinical and academic research. She has expertise in all aspects of oncology, haematology and theranostics clinical trial sites, from operational excellence, GCP compliance, quality management and clinical engagement.

Her strengths are in both building and transforming research programs and maximising research opportunities.

She is recognised as a national expert in trial management and strategic operations, with multiple engagements as a conference presenter and research educator across the Australian clinical trial sector. Her extensive experience in clinical trial leadership spans both the UK and Australia.
